Unveiling Dupixent: Exploring Side Effects and Safety Considerations

How should I use Dupixent (dupilumab)?

It is essential to follow your doctor’s instructions and use Dupixent for asthma as prescribed. It is not intended for use as a rescue medicine for asthma attacks.

If your breathing problems worsen or your asthma medications are not effective, seek medical attention. Your healthcare provider or a healthcare professional will guide you on the proper administration technique. Make sure to read and understand the Instructions for Use provided with the medicine.

Dupixent medication is typically injected under the skin once every 2 to 4 weeks, and the injection site should be rotated. The prefilled syringe or pen should be used for one injection only and discarded afterward.

What happens if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, follow the instructions for the specific dosing schedule. Do not use two doses at once to make up for a missed dose.

In the case of an overdose, contact your healthcare provider or seek emergency medical attention.

While using Dupixent eczema, avoid receiving live vaccines, as they may not be as effective during this time and may not fully protect you from disease. Live vaccines include measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), rotavirus, typhoid, yellow fever, varicella (chickenpox), zoster (shingles), and nasal flu (influenza) vaccine.

As always, it is important to consult with your healthcare provider for personalized medical advice and information about Dupixent.
